Why this information is worth listening to Keep it brief but frame it so that it feeds right into your topicĪ. Title: Give your speech a catchy title that makes people pause and say, “Yes, I would like to hear that!”Īudience: Consider your audience and tailor your speech to meet the needs of that audience.ī. What does your audience need to know? What do they already know? Are they completely ignorant about your topic? If so, some background info or basic knowledge needs to be given, either in your introduction or as the main purpose of your speech. Part of the way to focus your speech is to identify your audience. But let’s face it: there is a ton of information that can be given about almost any subject. The purpose of an informative speech is-yes, you guessed it-to inform your audience about a particular subject. You must dress appropriately (nice, clean shirt, pants, dress, etc no flip flops, no caps no shorts)………….Now that you’ve had a good look at some informative speech topics, let’s focus on the speech itself. It should substantiate some point you are making in your speech. You must use a visual aid that enhances your speech. Every minute that you are short or over will result in a deduction of 2 points. Your speech must be a least 3 minutes but not over 6 minutes. Three source minimum: You must have at least three sources.Double-Spaced all references should be double-spaced and indented.Be sure to make sure that the references are in Alphabetical order.com domain are not to be used unless authorship is verifiable and authoritative. Electronic sources must be authoritative and credible.Include a reference list at the end of this outline in MLA or APA format. YOU MUST put your references in the text of your speech.
